Lower Falls, circa 1909. Within a few short years, the Lower Falls had been transformed dramatically from the scenic wonder that the tribes and the first whites had known. Seen here are two crossings above the Falls (Post alignment rail and traffic bridges), the nearly complete Monroe Street Bridge, and the Washington Water Power dam and power station.
