This image, featured in Chapter 3 of the Strategic Master Plan, depicts what the “Confluence Area Visitor Arrival Point” might look like, proposed for the south side of the river near the area now known as “People’s Park.” An orientation kiosk or modest visitor facility would introduce visitors to the budding regional network of trails, historic, cultural, and natural resources, and the multitude of recreational opportunities in and around the Gorge area.
Whether merely signage or developed as a small building, the feature is envisioned to provide covered space to display interpretive and orientation materials, and may also feature bathrooms for visitors to the nearby whitewater park. The arrival point is designated as one of 16 priority projects in the plan. (Image © Friends of the Falls)
